The 2010 Council for Exceptional Children’s conference and expo in Nashville, TN last week has come and gone. A record attendance of 6,500 people participated this year. Check out the link above to see a video clip of Secretary of Education Arne Duncan’s keynote address.

I was blogging on the CCBDning from the conference during sessions related to the behavior of students with disabilities, EBD issues, and PBIS. Please visit the CCBDning to read my full comments. Here are the sessions I covered:

  • Sec of Ed Arne Duncan, keynote address.
  • Strategies for Rethinking Technology Implementation within RTI Models – Edyburn (presenter), Handouts @ http://people.uwm.edu/edyburn/cec10
  • High School Implementation of SW-PBIS – Flannery, Matthews, Sugai (presenters), Handouts @ http://www.PBIS.org
  • Effective Practices and Interventions for Students with EBD at Tier 2/3 – Vannest (presenter), Handouts: kvannest@tamu.edu
  • So You’ve Identified Aggression, Disruptions, Off Task…Now What? – Beck (presenter), Handouts link.

I hope that as more teachers and special educators become familiar with the social networking power of blogging, nings, and twitter (and whatever other tools emerge online) that we will see more then one voice reporting from the conference.

Let me know what you think by leaving a comment on this blog or the CCBDning.
